Gordo (pka Carnage) catching heat for playing over the sets of 2 closing DJs

As prolonged as DJs have been DJing, set times have (normally) been a factor. You have a predetermined time to participate in your set, you play out your ultimate tune, and the future DJ goes on. Occasionally it is satisfactory, if the other performers are okay with it, to go around a small little bit, particularly if it’s a headline club perform and not a pageant set. But to go hours around your time and cut the remaining two DJs of the night is fundamentally unheard of.

Cue Gordo, pka Carnage, who headlined Ministry of Sound this previous Saturday. Just after his headline set, or fairly, following he was scheduled to close, he apparently continued participating in, chopping the closing sets of Waze and Essel who were scheduled to enjoy right after him.

Headline DJ refused to arrive off past evening and the 2 acts following him (me and another DJ) shed our sets. I’m over a ten years of actively playing I’ve truthfully under no circumstances viewed this stage of entitlement or arrogance and I’ve DJed with way greater (and greater) artists.

Twitter responded overwhelmingly in assist of the two who experienced their sets reduce, in specific Essel who drove 10 hrs for the established.

twice i have had a headliner get my established shut down (in the side room) simply because i cleared his weak mainroom flooring.
various occasions i’ve been banished to a aspect space upon arrival, right after getting flown in / promo’d as a principal home headliner.
20 + many years into this, some egos know no bounds.

@GordoSZN a tad egocentric of you, although most of you American dj’s/producers assume you get to steal other people playtime/airtime. Respect other artists you require to!! Just consider you experienced your 1st prospect ripped away by a egocentric dj like you just after a 5 hour excursion? Greed man 🤬

At the stop of the day, Waze does not want MoS to capture any of the flak, and he and Essel are now in talks to engage in an additional night.

They pretty kindly have. We are pals, and we have been in contact. It is not their fault in all honesty men and women look to want to deflect and try to heap blame on them.
