Touring nationwide with five piece band The Monsoons in Could, London born, Tāmaki-dependent songwriter Daniel Armstrong unveils a passionate garage-rock stomper, as well as a Do-it-yourself movie manufactured with Dwayne Daly and Vivianne Castro. The spooky title card and lyrics assure a little something ominous, but are contrasted with an upbeat yard boogie, suggesting that the enterprise we keep in the course of these types of occasions can both make or break us (or is it the omnipotent enterprise of out-of-date traditions that keeps us?).
“‘The Company’ is about why we place our trust in the powers that be, why we pay attention to folks who cover powering outdated traditions, only to be screwed about time and time once again. I actually wrote it a number of decades ago, but this kind of background loves to repeat by itself so it’s continue to appropriate.” – Daniel Armstrong
