NBC is inviting the Grinch to share its holiday getaway period: The community will air a two-hour generation of Dr. Seuss’ The Grinch Musical! on December 9. Staged at the Troubadour Theatre in London, the musical creation will star Glee‘s Matthew Morrison as the little-hearted Grinch and Denis O’Hare as his hapless mutt Max (with Descendants 3’s Booboo Stewart as the more youthful Max.
“In what has been an incredibly complicated calendar year for us all,” Morrison reported, “it is an honor to provide some vacation cheer into viewers’ houses this December. My desire is to bring some Who-ville magic to this holiday year and, while the pandemic presents some worries in bringing a phase production to everyday living, we are enthusiastic to existing a special edition of this seasonal favourite in a new resourceful and imaginative way.”
The musical, with guide and lyrics by Tim Mason and tunes by Mel Marvin and featuring the hit tracks “You’re a Signify One particular, Mr. Grinch” and “Welcome Christmas” (by Albert Hague & Dr. Seuss) performed on Broadway in the course of the holiday break seasons of 2006 and 2007.
In the NBC model, the Cindy-Lou Who character will be played by younger newcomer Amelia Minto. Producers have also assembled an ensemble of musical theater actors from London’s West Conclusion to full the forged.
