The Weeknd partners with Binance for ‘first crypto powered world tour’

On July 8, celebrity artist The Weeknd (Abel Tesfaye) will enjoy the first date of his ‘After Hours Til Dawn’ planet tour at the Rogers Centre in Toronto.

According to an announcement from the artist, the stadium tour will be “the initial worldwide concert tour to integrate World wide web 3. technologies for an improved fan experience”, with cryptocurrency exchange Binance named as the tour’s official sponsor.

Binance has collaborated with Toronto-dependent HXOUSE, a so-known as “think-heart and group incubator” for creative business people, to release an exclusive NFT collection for The Weeknd’s tour, together with co-branded tour merchandise.

Attendee’s virtual ticket stubs can also gain entry to “commemorative” NFTs which Binance claims will provide distinctive activities for lovers.

The Weeknd’s partnership with Binance follows this week’s news that Binance Labs, the undertaking capital and incubation arm of Binance, shut a new $500 million expenditure fund supported by institutional investors like DST World Partners, and Breyer Funds.

Binance suggests the new fund will devote in tasks that “can increase the use scenarios of cryptocurrencies and travel the adoption of World-wide-web3 and blockchain technologies”.

The media statement saying the tour sponsorship also notes that The Weeknd launched the XO Humanitarian Fund earlier this calendar year, as a United Nations Earth Foodstuff Programme (WFP) World Goodwill Ambassador.

To mark the launch of the tour, Binance states it will donate $2 million to the XO Humanitarian Fund, which is administered by Globe Food stuff System United states.

Furthermore, The Weeknd and Binance are developing a specifically built NFT selection and they say that 5% of its revenue will be donated to the XO Humanitarian Fund.
