This week we’re highlighting new music from Weyes Blood, Cautious Clay, and The Smashing Pumpkins.

Weyes Blood – And In the Darkness, Hearts Aglow

Follow up to 2019’s Titanic Rising, And In the Darkness, Hearts Aglow was released on November 18, 2022 via Sub Pop. The album was written by Natalie Mering (Weyes Blood) with production from Mering along with Jonathan Rado on all songs except for ‘A Given Thing,’ which was produced by Mering and Rodaidh McDonald. The album features guest appearances from Meg Duffy, Daniel Lopatin, and Mary Lattimore.

Cautious Clay – Thin Ice On The Cake EP

Cleveland-born singer, songwriter, and producer Cautious Clay (Joshua Karpeh) has released his second EP of 2022. Follow up to Lip Service, Thin Ice On The Cake includes six songs, three of which have been previously released (‘Puffer,’ ‘Camp Anonymous,’ and ‘Burning Up Slow.’) “I’ve always loved working with juxtapositions in my music. Conceptually Thin Ice on the Cake relates to being on the edge of something really bad as we grow nearer to death, but birthdays are also about celebrating the positives and joys of life. The cake is a great symbol of that. ‘Burning Up Slow’ is all about enjoying the ride,” shares Clay.
