Bret McKenzie will launch his solo debut album ‘Songs Without the need of Jokes’ on August 26th.
The New Zealand artist is best-recognized for his role in Flight Of The Concords, a comedy that felt framed by musical reference factors – and some neat in-story songwriting.
Solo debut album ‘Songs Devoid of Jokes’ finds Bret McKenzie stepping out on his individual, and it’ll be released this summer season.
Out on August 26th, it was prompted by some of his movie get the job done, and a wish to do one thing distinct.
“Post-Conchords, I’d been operating on songs for the Muppets films, and during a session I experienced the believed that it would be entertaining sometime to get the job done on some music that weren’t for an individual else, that don’t have to notify a story or be humorous or keep on the narrative plot, examining all the containers for the character in the film,” McKenzie claims. “I considered it’d be enjoyable to do a history like that, a thing different.”
New tune ‘A Minimal Tune’ is on-line now, and it options a video clip shot at Royal Whanganui Opera Property, the final Victorian theatre remaining in New Zealand.
Tune in now.
